Volatile Aromatic Oil Extraction Plant

Dry leaves / Partially dry peels will be received in cold storage facility. Dry leaves / Partially dry peels will be put on inspection table where they will be inspected for defects and other debris which will be removed. After these Dry leaves / Partially dry peels will be fed into Bucket Elevator which will go to shredder machine.
Shredded pieces of 5 – 6 mm will be conveyed by Bucket Elevator into an intermediate silo. From this silo it will be loaded into a perforated cage. Loading is done by means of Pneumatic conveying system / Bucket Elevator. Perforated cages will be loaded on loading platform with load cells for measuring accurate weight. After weighing is complete the cage will be lowered in charging vessel.

Inside Charging vessel steam will be injected for 3 hours at 2 - 3 Kg/cm 2 (As per material processed) This will extract volatile oil. Vapours will pass through condenser and condensate in the form of oil and water will come in oil water separator. Oil being lighter will come out from top and will be stored in oil tank. Oil pump will feed this oil to packing machine. Suitable size packing and labelling will be done here.
After completion of batch cage will be removed with help of electrically operated chain hoist and unloaded in silo. From this silo it will be fed to spin flash dryer feed hopper by bucket elevator. Dryer will remove moisture. From outlet of dryer material will go to intermediate silo by means of bucket elevator. Spin Flash dryer will dry the material to 1% or less moisture. This dry material will go agitated reactor. Pure ethanol food grade (95 - 99.8% as per material extraction properties) will be added and reaction for oleoresin extraction will start. We will use Ultrasound Assisted Extraction UAE method wherein we will put coils to ultrasonic waves. Using ultrasound, it will break cell membranes and will give better yield than conventional methods. After 3 hours the solution is filtered and will go to 2 Falling Film Calendria and Agitated Thin Film Evaporator (ATFE). ATFE will evaporate ethanol and oleoresin is collected at bottom. Evaporated ethanol will be recovered in condenser and will be reused.
Filtered material will be dried and passed in Hammer Mill for powder making and powder will be sifted in vibro-sifter. Sifted powder will go to ribbon blender for homogenization and then it will go to packing machine.(If required as per material handled)
If powder making and/or solvent extraction is not required, then residual material after drying will go to briquetting machine. These briquettes will be used as alternate additiona fuel for boiler thus reducing overall fuel consumption.
